A prayerful New Year’s Resolution idea:

Spend an hour at Adoration every week.

“The Hand to Mouth prayer” Did you know the word “adoration” comes from Latin words ad os? It literally means “to the mouth.” Back in the old Roman days, people would kiss their hand and wave it to a king, or they would put their hand over their mouth to be quiet. This is super cool because it means the best prayer sometimes is just shutting up. It’s silencing yourself because God is so big and mysterious. It is the creature standing mute before the Creator.

January, Holy Father’s Intention:  For prayer with the word of God. Let us pray that praying with the Word of God be nourishment for our lives and a source of hope in our communities, helping us to build a more fraternal and missionary Church.
